Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette Review

6 February 2016
With the recent release of more products to the Gwen Stefani Urban Decay Collection I thought I'd revisit and review the palette that started the initial hype: the limited edition Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette. When I first heard of this release back in November, the thought of acid brights, vibrant reds and popping pinks immediately sprung to mind, but I was pleasantly surprised by the tasteful packaging and wearable colours that this palette provides.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette Review Beauty Blogger

The palette itself is perfect packaging wise. Urban Decay have moved away from flimsy cardboard to this plastic and metal palette that is not only easy upon the eye but sturdy and solid. The palette opens with a strong magnet to reveal a beautiful array of matte and shimmer eyeshadows in a range of wearable colours, without consisting of only nudes and warm browns.

Gwen Stefani worked with Urban Decay to create a palette full of shades that she wished she had in her own makeup collection and luckily for us we can now all enjoy them. Some of my favourite shades have to be Punk, Pop and Baby but I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Harajuku and Danger the two brightest shades in the palette.

As you'd expect with Urban Decay eyeshadows they are creamy, blendable and highly pigmented. At £40 for this palette it is great value for money with each eyeshadow working out at about £2.60 each, making it a great addition to any makeup collection.

What do you think of this collaboration? Will you be trying anything from the collection?

What's On My Face - Prom Edition

27 June 2013
I thought that today I'd do a short and sweet post telling you guys what makeup I'm going to be wearing to my prom tomorrow. I love 'What's On My Face' posts and the articles they do in Two magazine showing you what makeup artists keep in their kit, so this is going to be a cross between the two.

Just a quick note saying that, per usual, I am not bragging. I don't know why anyone would ever brag about what makeup they have or wear but I just thought I'd mention it, I'm doing this post because I enjoy reading them so I thought that other people might as well. Also there are three different eyeshadow palettes but I'm not using every single colour, just a couple from each palette. Imagine wearing every colour from every palette I'd look like a clown!

1. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
2. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
3. MUA Heaven and Earth Palette
4. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
5. MUA Eyeliner in Rich Brown
6. Mac Lipstick in Please Me
7. Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation
8. Mini Benefit Porefessional
9. Mini Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
10. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
11. MUA Clear Mascara
12. Urban Decay Primer Potion
13. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
14. Clarins Blush (I think it's been discontinued)
15. Mini Benefit They're Real! Mascara
16. Sleek Face Contour Kit

I'll try to get someone to take a photo of my makeup tomorrow and I'll either update this post or I'll add it to another post!

Anyway I hope you guys have a nice weekend whether your at Glastonbury, shopping or just chillin' and I'd love to know what your doing! I'll be catching up on sleep on Saturday after prom and after party, preparing for Thorpe Park on Sunday. I wish my weekends were always this exciting!

Urban Decay Primer Potion - Is It Worth The Hype?

31 May 2013
If you, like myself, spends hours and hours reading and worshiping beauty blogs I'm 99% that you have heard of the Urban Decay Primer Potion; lets face it, you'd of had to have been living under a rock for you not to have heard about Urban Decay's best selling product! Anyway a couple of weeks ago I headed down to my local Urban Decay counter to see what all of the hype is about.

While browsing at all of the Urban Decay Products neatly lined up in their whimsical packaging, the lovely shop assistant, who was doing somebody's makeup at the time, showed me exactly why this simple eyeshaddow primer is their best selling product and instantly sold, I bought it with no hesitation in the slightest. Oh boy, I am so glad I did!

Urban Decay Primer Potion £15

What it says - Our #1 product because it works: apply our weightless Invisible Eyeshadow Primer Potion before your shadow for vibrant color, and absolutely NO creasing! The new squeeze tube features a precise needle-nose tip and 10% MORE potion.

The truth is that I cannot argue with that.

'precise needle-nose tip' makes application easy and mess-free.

I have incredibly oily eyelids and eye shadows just crease, slide and fade, but the Urban Decay Primer Potion stops that. Not only does it prevent creasing but it makes my eyeshadows look incredibly vibrant and pigmented as you can see from the photos below.

I don't think I ever had any doubts that this product wouldn't work but until I bought it I didn't realise how much it would change my makeup.

So is it worth the hype? Yes!

Will I repurchase it? I don't think I could live without it now, so definitely yes!

I'd love to know if you've tried this product and if you love it as much as I do! But I'd also love to know if you liked this kind of review? Also should I do more?
