The Christmas Tag!

25 December 2013
Merry Christmas! I hope you are all having a wonderful day whatever you are doing whether that be celebrating Christmas or not. I thought I'd schedule a post for those of you wanting a break from arguing over what to watch on TV with your family or are fed up of loosing monopoly to your great grandma Ethel! If your reading this on Boxing Day then I hope you had a lovely day yesterday and I'd love to know what you got in the comments!

Anyway on the post, which is the Christmas tag! I've seen lots of bloggers do this tag and I thought it looked fun so I decided to share it with you!

What time of the year do you start your Christmas shopping?
I normally start thinking of what to buy people for Christmas in late summer but I only really start my Christmas shopping near the end of November and I'll only finish a few days before Christmas. I don't think I could ever be one of those people who gets everything on Christmas Eve as I spend a lot of time finding the perfect presents!

Do you have any festive recipes for food or drink you limit solely to the Christmas season to share?
Roast potatoes done in goose fat, if I could on Christmas Day I'd just have a plate full of roast potatoes because they just taste that good! My mother restricts them the goose fat to Christmas as they are quite unhealthy but I cannot begin to describe the crispy outside and fluffy interior mmmmmmmm.

Tell me how Christmas goes home in your home...
We wake up around 8.30 ish and me and my sister open our 'stockings' (it's really just a pillow case haha) in our pyjamas before we all get dressed and go downstairs. In between cooking the Christmas dinner we all open the presents from under the tree before eating our Christmas dinner at about 1 o'clock. After lunch my mum tries to persuade us to go for a walk but by then my dad's fallen asleep on the sofa. We then spend the rest of the day stuffing our face full of chocolates while watching Christmas TV.

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
Not as far as I know...

Do you have a favourite festive coffee?
I don't drink coffee but I'll never pass on a hot chocolate with mini marshmallows (mini marshmallows are so much cuter than big ones)!

Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
'Last Christmas' by Wham will always be my favourite Christmas song but I also love 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey.

What do you do on Christmas eve?
Apart from going to Church in the evening we don't really do anything special apart from preparing the vegetables for Christmas Dinner.

What's your Christmas wrapping strategy? Do you have one?
I never knew people had Christmas wrapping strategies?! I just try to be as neat as possible and finish everything off with gold ribbon. All the wrapping paper has to fit with the decoration theme though!

What's your dream gift this year?
Apart from world peace, an end to world hunger and all my family and friends to be happy and healthy, I'd love a Chanel bag or maybe some Louboutins. A girl can dream.

Describe your Christmas tree. How tall? Real or artificial? How is it decorated?
Sadly artificial as my parents are too stingy to fork out for a real tree each year, it's moderately sized at about 6ft and decorated with a red and gold colour scheme in mind but with a few mismatched personal decorations thrown in for good measure.

Do you decorate just the Christmas tree or other areas of your house e.g. windows, banisters?
Mainly just the tree but we like to put some holly and tinsel around the house like on the mantelpiece.

What do you wear to Christmas parties and what do you wear on Christmas day?
I don't really go to Christmas parties but we all dress nicely on Christmas Day, not forgetting the paper hats out of the Christmas crackers that is the Christmas uniform of many families all over the world.

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you've done this tag leave it in the comments as I'd love to read it! I'd also just like to take this opportunity to thank you all for supporting my blog as in the new year my blog will be a year old. I wouldn't be here without you.

Thank You and Merry Christmas

What's In My Bag?

20 November 2013
I love the what's in my bag tag it is one of my favourite types of blog posts to read or YouTube videos to watch. It's probably just because I'm nosy but I know that other people also enjoy this sorts of posts, so I thought it was about time I got round to doing my own.

Tk Maxx
In my bag I try to carry things that will aid me in every eventually, such as variations in weather, having a cold, being injured, being thirsty, bad breath, ruining my makeup and any situation that may need money! To some it may seem excessive but for me it is crucial and I can say that I've used everything that I carry in my bag and I've also lent things to other people who wished they'd had such items in their bag!

001 Makeup Bag - The Body Shop - I'll probably do another post on my makeup essentials that I carry round with me.
002 Purse - Dune - Note: the purse is only useful if it's got money in which sadly mine hardly ever does.
003 Sunglasses - Primark - No one likes the sun in their eyes plus they provide a great disguise if you're trying to hide from someone.
004 House Keys - I've forgotten my house keys so many times now that I have to keep a set of keys in every bag I own. I feel like Holly Golightly but a lot less gorgeous and without a cat.
005 Umbrella - What can I say? The British weather is unpredictable.
006 Plasters - Superdrug - My shoes always rub me to the point where they start to bleed, so plasters reduce the pain and stop me bleeding all over the shop.
007 Tissues - Honestly how many times have you had a cold and been without a tissue? More than you'd like to admit I'm sure!
008 Hand Sanitiser - The Body Shop - Any hand sanitiser is a necessity as public places can be quite dirty but I especially love this one as it smells like strawberries, YUM!
009 Tic tacs - My favourite mints, the only mints I've tried that don't blow my mind with their minty-ness.
010 Bottle of water - Great for keeping hydrated and saves money on buying drinks all the time.

If you've done a what's in my bag post or video leave the link below as I love them. If not tell me what are your handbag essentials?

25 Facts About Me!

23 May 2013
I've seen a lot of 25 facts about me videos and posts recently but it was only when I was reading my friend Izzy's Get To Know Me post that I realized, not many of you know a lot about me. So today is the day when you will learn about the not so mysterious Eleanor behind The Lipstick, The Girl And Her Wardrobe.

1. My name is spelt Eleanor even though its pronounced 'Elena'.

2. Even though I write my name as Eleanor, not many people call me Eleanor. Most of my friends call me Ellie or occasionally Elle, I also have one friend who calls me Elsa (don't ask).

3. My favourite film is The Devil Wears Prada, I love Miranda Priestly's (Meryl Streep) sharp tongue and how she completely owns Andy (Anne Hathaway) when she says that fashion isn't important.

4. I am obsessed with the Kardashians/Jenners/Odom etc...

5. I've been scared of big dogs ever since I had a nightmare that one chased after me and bit off both of my arms. No joke.

6. My favourite TV program ever is Gossip Girl and one day hopefully I will find my own Chuck (good Chuck in the last couple of series not Chuck in the first few series as he was nasty back then).

7. The number 7 is my lucky number, I don't know why. I just like it.

8. I have never had a pet, my mum's allergic to cats and my dad doesn't like dogs and any other animal was always out of the question.

9. I once fainted in a drama lesson at school and everyone thought I was acting...until I didn't get up...and I wasn't performing...

10. I cannot resist chocolate, it's my weakness. But I do love a good flump!

11. I have an obsession with painting my nails if you hadn't already guessed.

12. My family and my friends mean the world to me and I cannot even begin to explain how lucky and grateful I am to have them.

13. My Nanna makes the best coffee cake EVER!

14. Bare feet freak me out, especially men's feet because they're hairy and gross. This also explains my hatred of flip flops.

15. I am incredibly clumsy. Even if there is nothing there, I will trip, get caught on something or just fall flat on my face. I could tell you the most embarrassing thing that has happened to me but there have been so many it would be hard to choose.

16. I wear glasses.

17. Next year I will be at sixth form doing my A Levels. I will (hopefully) be taking Economics, Maths, Business A2 (I've already done the AS) and either Drama or Art. If you've done/doing drama or art at As/A Level please tell me if you enjoyed it/what the course is like as I love both subjects and cannot make up my mind.

18. I have a sister but she is also a best friend.

19. My dream bag is a Medium Black Chanel 2.55 Flap Bag in Caviar Leather with Gold hard ware, one day I will have the money to buy this bag. It is sad but true that this bag is my motivation for success.

20. Next year will be mine and my best friend Harriet's 10 year anniversary. I don't know whether best friends celebrate anniversaries but it's weird thinking how long we've put up with each other. The truth is I don't know what I would do without her but that goes for my other best friends as well!

21.I hate people watching me eat as it makes me feel uncomfortable, so the worst first date someone could ever take me on would be for a meal.

22. People often say I speak very quietly but if I have something to say,I will say it and make myself heard, very loudly.

23. When I was younger I used to collect spoons, yes spoons, from lots of different places and countries.

24. I was a bald baby and my parents were worried I'd never grow any hair. But when I did grow some hair it was very thin, so I had to get some layers to make it look thicker. Sadly my hair is still annoyingly thin.

25. When I was small the only flavor crisps I would try were prawn cocktail because the packet was pink, they soon became my favourite flavor and to this day they still are.

I hope you found my 25 facts interesting as it took me a long time to trying to think of 25 that were in the slightest interesting! Also sorry for the lack of photos! But if you've done this tag or a similar post please leave a link to it in the comments as I love these kind of posts!
